It was a night of head clashes at the Coliseum at the University of Guadalajara. The two main bouts were showcased on beIN Boxing.
Ivan Montero won a split decision over Ramses Agathon in a fight that ended in the ninth round due to an accidental clash of heads in the super welterweight clash. Montero (18-0, 7 KO's) remained undefeated while Agathon, who went down in the second round, fell to 16-3-2, 8 KO's.
The clash of heads opened up a bad cut above the right eyebrow of Agathon, where at that point the referee Pablo Diaz decided to stop the fight and it went to the scorecards. One of the judges gave 76-75 for Agathon and the other two cards were for Montero, 76-75 and 77-73.
In the co-main event, Guadalajara's Carlos "Chuko" Diaz and Venezuelan Willmank Cano Jr. fought to a no-contest after a clash of heads opened up a bad cut on Cano. Diaz (17-0, 7 KO's) and Cano (12-0-2), who visited the canvas in the second round, keep their undefeated records intact. The super featherweight fight was called off at 57 seconds of the third round.
