The now 42-year-old Dutchman Nieky Holzken is set to take on German Besir Ay on February 7 at home in Helmond.
Holzken, 15-1 (11 KOs), lost to Callum Smith back in 2018 in what was the semi-final of the WBSS tournament when he came in as a late sub for German Juergen Braehmer.
Holzken surprised many with his efforts that night but soon focused on kickboxing instead. The veteran returned this year to outpoint Edison Demaj over 10 rounds in July. The bout with Ay, 20-2 (9 KOs), is being advertised with the vacant WBF super middleweight strap on the line.

German junior middleweight Slawa Spomer, 20-1 (11 KOs), is back in the ring February 7 in Dietikon, Switzerland. It will be his first fight since getting stopped by Xander Zayas at Madison Square Garden in New York on February 14 last year. The opponent is yet to be confirmed.

Swedish light heavyweight Costas Nanga, 13-0 (9 KOs), meets German Alpay Yaman, 17-5 (8 KOs), on the undercard of Jacob Bank vs. William Scull on January 31 in Kolding, Denmark.
For Nanga it is his debut for his new promoter, Primetime Promotions. He stopped badly faded Serhyi Demchenko in October in what was his only fight during 2025. He now hopes to have put the injuries and disappointments behind him.
