Former WBO super-featherweight champion Nicky Cook returns to action on May 21 at the O2 Arena, London.

The show is headlined by Nathan Cleverly's WBO light-heavyweight title challenge against Jurgen Braehmer.

James DeGale's British and Commonwealth super-middleweight title showdown against George Groves is also on the card.

But Cook will be hoping to grab a few headlines with his first fight for more than two years.

He hasn't been in action since he was stopped by Roman Martinez in March 2009 in the first defence of his WBO belt.

The Essex fighter is already being linked with a clash against Ricky Burns later in 2011.

Burns took the WBO title that Martinez had won against Cook from the Puerto Rican last September.

Cook, 31, suffered just his second defeat against Martinez, and both times he has been on the end of a loss, they have come in world title fights.

Overall, he still has an impressive 29-2 record with 16 stoppages, and is a former European, Commonwealth and British featherweight champion.
