On the sidelines of the official inauguration of the new Boxing Club Imperium of Terrebonne, which is situated in the suburbs north of Montreal, BoxingScene/Netboxe.com had the pleasure of speaking with Nicholson Poulard (15-3-0). The latter confirmed his next presence in the ring.

"I'm actually fighting on February 11 at the Bell Centre. My opponent is Michael Walchuk. I know that he's been on the Canadian team. He is a good boxer, Jean (Pascal, is the brother of Nicholson Poulard) has boxed against him. This is a guy who has experience so it should make for a good fight. "

Michael Walchuk (9-2-0) had been mentioned as a likely opponent of the American Peter Quillin at the recent Pepsi Coliseum card in Quebec City last December 18. In the end, it was Martin Desjardins who faced Quillin. As for Walchuk, his name briefly circulated as a potential rival for Adam Trupish on the recent card in Calgary.

As for Nicholson Poulard, there was talk of seeing him face Sebastien Demers in the final match of the second part of the series Fast and Furious 3 in December 2010. But again he was ruled out, and Renan St-Juste faced Demers. At the time Poulard was sidelined with a slight injury.

"I had a problem with my right hand. But that's settled. Despite the injury I never stopped training, but now it's more intense because I'm boxing soon. I was always in the gym and tried to train as hard as possible. For me, a fight can come up at any time. Therefore I am ready at any time and I stay in the best shape as possible so I can jump on opportunities as they arise. "
