BoxingScene has confirmed that Maximino Cuevas through his management has filed an official protest and that the title bout will be reviewed and an answer by next week as to the complaint.
Peter Brodsky filed the complaint alleging that there were rules violations in the tenth and final round of the Rochester N.Y. title bout on March 23.
Reached by phone Chairman Ron Scott Stevens informed BoxingScene.
"We are waiting for a tape, the Cuevas people filed a protest and as soon as we look at the tape we will come up with an answer."
Asked what the time frame it would be on receiving the video of the fight Stevens commented " I asked them to provide it be this Friday, If we have it be this Friday we will probably have an answer sometime next week"
With Stevens being present at the title bout BoxingScene asked if he saw a slip in the last round.
" I am not going to comment right now they have put a protest in writing, so let me just work this through channels"
