Roy Jones Jr. is looking towards a new battle, but this battle will not take place in a Boxing ring. Roy Jones is looking to battle his way to the top of the music industry. Jones recently spoke with MTV and told them that he is so focused on his work in the music industry, he may never get back in the ring again. Jones has been knocked out in his last two fights. The two men who defeated Jones, Glen Johnson and Antonio Tarver, face off on December 18th, 2004 on HBO.
Roy Jones recently put out a compilation LP called Body Head Bangerz Volume One on his label Body Head Entertainment. Jones said that he is already a mega-star, now he wants to make the artists on his label stars as well. Jones' love for the ring has been replaced by his love for making music.
"I've made enough and had enough fun boxing to where I don't wake up and have the same inspiration I have about music now," said Jones.
"Now I'm more focused on music. I have a new battle. You can't be not wholeheartedly in boxing and try to do it. When I used to do it, I used to do it like it like it was my lifeline. Now I don't want to eat no more like that."
"I want to see artists from Body Head become superstars,"
"When I do that, I'll be satisfied with this. But I'm not gonna be satisfied until I do that. I'mma just chill out for a bit till I feel I might love [boxing] again or I get mad and feel I want to kick one of their behinds. It ain't hard for me, I been doing it for 20 years."
