The Nevada State Athletic Commission has named Robert Bennett as its new executive director, replacing Keith Kizer, who left his role this past January, according to the Las Vegas Sun.
“Bennett, a retired FBI supervisory special agent and U.S. Marine Corps captain, has judged approximately 68 professional fights and shadow judged an additional 46,” the report said, though BoxRec.com has Bennett judging 77 pro fights between April 2011 and April 2012 (not including any he shadow judged).
“Prior to accepting the position, Bennett served as court security director for Clark County’s 8th Judicial District, where he was responsible for the management of the more than $10 million capital budget,” the report said.
Kizer had served seven and a half years in his post. Prior to that, he had for nearly nine years been chief deputy attorney general of the Nevada Office of the Attorney General’s gaming division, a role that included being the chief legal counsel to the NSAC, according to his LinkedIn profile. He is now the deputy attorney general of the state Office of the Attorney General’s business and taxation division.
