As reported a few days ago, Roger Mayweather made a request to the Nevada State Athletic Commission to reinstate his trainer's license in order to work the corner of nephew Floyd Mayweather Jr. when he meets Oscar De La Hoya on May 5.
Mayweather was fined and suspended for 1-year following his participation in the April 2006 brawl during the tenth-round of the Floyd Mayweather vs. Zab Judah bout, held at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
The commission ruled on his request Tuesday, and approved him with a unanimous 4-0 vote. But, the commission also ruled that he would face a lifetime ban if a similiar incident occured.
"I do regret it happened, and I wouldn't do it again in the same situation," Mayweather told the Grand Rapids Press.
