During an interview with the Daily Telegraph , IBF junior welterweight champion Lovemore Ndou blasted fellow Aussie fighter, former undisputed junior welterweight champ Kostya Tszyu, telling him to make up his mind on retirement or put on the gloves and fight him.
"I'm offering him the chance to get off the couch and be part of the biggest bout this country has seen – or shut up and stay retired for good. He should stop talking about fighting again and accept a chance to win the title – or simply just sit back and relax with his wife and kids and enjoy the good life," Ndou said.
Ndou told the paper that Tszyu avoided him when he was coming up in the ranks due to financial reasons. Now, he says the big money is there and Tszyu needs to fight him or officially retire.
"Kostya never wanted to fight me when I was coming up because he thought it wouldn't be a big-money fight. Well, now it would be. I'm sick of people asking me if we're going to fight. Maybe it wouldn't be good for Kostya though. He'd get hurt and probably end up wishing he'd stayed out of boxing. Perhaps it's all just a publicity stunt anyway. Either way. I believe I am unbeatable right now," Ndou said.
