Hassan N'Dam has his sights set on regaining a middleweight title.
N'Dam, whose only career loss is a defeat to Peter Quillin in October 2012, called out new IBF beltholder Sam Soliman. Soliman of course won the title with a wide-points victory over Felix Sturm on Saturday.
N'Dam (30-1, 18 KOs), who is promoted by King Sports, has no qualms about traveling to Australia for the fight and is confident of victory.
"Once I win a version of the world title I will immediately fight GGG in a massive unification fight," N'Dam told BoxingScene.com on Sunday. "I would be sure of a much greater purse than has been offered to me over the past 12 months. My manager Gary Hyde was in talks with Sturm's people with regards to me challenging Sturm on May 31st but it looks like they preferred fighting Soliman, I don't know, maybe because he's so old."
N'Dam has fought three times since the setback to Quillin, his last bout a shutout decision over Fulgencio Zuniga. With a title around his waist, he believes a fight with Golovkin would come to fruition.
"I am the only 160-pound fighter in the top 10 who would genuinely fight GGG but the rewards have to be good," N'Dam, 30, said. "If I challenge him when I am not a beltholder the money will not be so great, but once I have a belt I will command a substantial purse.
"My goal when I signed with Michael King was to have three fights in six months, then challenge for a world title and finally when I am world champion beat GGG. My goal is on the right track. I have won three fights since December, now I am in a very good position to challenge Sam Soliman and GGG -- well that could be just around the corner."
