Nathan Cleverly says he is keen to fight Tony Bellew after seeing  the Liverpudlian lift his old British light-heavyweight title last night.

WBO champion Cleverly believes that Bellew is an ideal first defence for the title he won in May.

And Bellew is also keen on the fight.

"I've not got a problem with it," said Cleverly.

"It's been on before so let's get it on again."

Bellew insisted that he had not even contemplated a fight with Cleverly ahead of his showdown with Ovill McKenzie at the LIverpool Echo Arena.

But he too wants to get it on.

"If Frank Warren wants to do it, I'll say yes," said Bellew.

"Cleverly can't fight going backwards, and believe me, he'll be going backwards in a fight between the two of us."
