At the Wembley Arena in Wembley, London, light heavyweight Nathan Cleverly (19-0, 9KOs) dominated Antonio Brancalion (32-8-2, 8KOs) for a five round stoppage. Cleverly pick up the vacant EBU (European) title with the victory.
In the early rounds, Cleverly was using a good left jab from the distance to set up some hard right hands. The jab helped him get inside and land big rights to the chin. Brancalion took the punches and kept coming. In the fourth, Cleverly poured on some very good punches. Near the end of the round, he hit Brancalion with a big combination of punches in the corner to send him down as the bell sounded. The ref gave him a count of eight.
Cleverly went back on the attack in the fifth round. Brancalion could not do anything to get away from the right hand. Cleverly continued to batter Brancalion with right hands over and over until the ref had seen enough and stopped the action.
