Commonwealth light heavyweight champ Nathan Cleverly (15-0, 5KOs) made short work of Samson Onyango (18-4, 12KOs), stopping in him the first round of their bout at the Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon.
It only took Cleverly 2:15, and a host of body punches, to end things early with Onyango caught off-guard and overwhelmed.
"I'm not too surprised - I expected myself to stop the guy this time," Cleverly said to Sky Sports. "Before I'd look a little bit more to win on points but now the knockouts are coming. I'm at my optimum weight and my strength is increasing.
"I started with the long, snappy jab but I could see that once I hit him with one body shot he didn't like it so much, so I thought I'd repeat the shot and he went down. These Africans are unknown quantities so you've got to be mentally prepared. He launched a big right hand to try and rattle me but it was no problem."
