With the endless delays to his mandatory showdown with IBF/WBA/WBO Lightweight champ Juan Diaz mounting, Nate Campbell seems slightly perturbed. "I just want him to sign the contract," says Campbell, 31-5-1 (25 KO).

Campbell has signed the contract to face Diaz, while Diaz has yet to commit on paper. "The very first contract I received, I signed," Campbell told BoxingScene.com. "I didn't haggle too much, I didn't argue about money. I just want to fight. I want to prove to the world that I am the best lightweight in the world. There isn't too much more I can do to make this fight happen."

Diaz-Campbell was scheduled for the undercard of Oleg Maskaev-Sam Peter on March 8 in Cancun, Mexico. Campbell doesn't worry about a potential home-court advantage for the Mexican-American. "I didn't have any problems fighting Matt Zegan in Chicago. He's not from America, but Chicago has more Polish people than Warsaw. I'm sure that my people will make sure the officials are clean."

Campbell says he doesn't think Juan Diaz is anything to write home about. "When I hit somebody, they get hurt. I don't see him being any different from anyone else as far as taking my shots. If he'll stand there and take it, I'll ruin him gracefully. Nobody in their right mind wants to take the kind of punishment I can dish out. He likes to fight, so whatever he wants to do on fight night, we can do it."

Diaz's camp is concerned with the terms of the contract King sent to them. According to BoxingScene.com Editor Rick Reeno, Diaz's camp is worried of a possible fallout in the fight, which would extend Diaz's commitment to promoter Don King by 180 days. There is also confusion in the Diaz camp as to which belts will be at stake. Campbell, who stated that he "hates the business of boxing," seems interested only in the business of getting in the ring.

"Why hasn't the contract been signed? I signed my contract. If Juan wants to fight me so bad, then what is the holdup?"

A request for comment was not immediately returned by Don King Productions.
