Natasha Jonas got her third win of the calendar year with a stoppage over Bianka Majlath.

The former WBA super-featherweight International champion was in action at the Eventim Olympia in Liverpool.

Jonas, who boxed at the same venue back in July and did enough to force an early finish against the Hungarian after 30 seconds of the second round, exclusively live on iFL TV worldwide and ESPN + Stateside, as part of the supporting cast to Rocky Fielding’s return to the ring against Abdallah Paziwapazi on an MTK Fight Night offering.

And the 35-year-old, trained by Joe Gallagher, is now expected to have a break before returning in the new year after a run of three since suffering defeat against Swiss-based Brazilian Viviane Obenauf back in August 2018 in Cardiff.

Meanwhile, John Quigley was forced to bite down on his gum shield after being hurt in his fight with William Warburton.

The talented 29-year-old increased his tally to three undefeated for the year after coming back from a 13-month hiatus following a defeat to Declan Geraghty at the Guild Hall in Preston back in March 2018.

Warburton had good spells during the fight but was outpointed by 60 points to 54.

Heavyweight Sean Turner stepped back between the ropes for the first time since January 2016.

Having boxed under the auspices of the Malta Boxing Association, Turner’s aspirations of forging a career in the domestic heavyweight division in the UK were curtailed by a series of injuries and other issues.

But Turner, training with Derry Mathews and George Vaughan in Liverpool, managed to overcome those issues to outpoint Miles Willington to move to 2-0 with a 40-37 verdict being handed in by the referee.

And David Thompson secured a premature ending to his first assignment in the paid code.

The 28-year-old, who is currently on the books at Bangor City Football Club in Wales, United Kingdom, and plays as a central defender, was in against Bryn Wain.

Thompson, nicknamed ‘Majestic’, was dominant in the three minutes he was active before referee Mark Lyson accepted the retirement of Wain after he was cut over the eye.
