According to overseas reports, former featherweight champion Prince Naseem Hamed was told by the judge in his reckless driving case to expect a prison sentence after pleading guilty in the matter. Justice Alan Goldsack also banned Hamed from driving.
The case stems from an incident in April of 2005, Naseem was driving his Mercedes McLaren at speeds clocked as high as 90 miles per hour when he plowed head-on into two cars.
The prosecutor Neil Coxon made a strong case against Hamed due to the numerous injuries suffered to Anthony Burgin, who was involved in the crash. Burgin suffered a broken leg, broken arms and fractures to every major bone in his body. He also sustained bruising to his brain and has since required seven operations.
