TOKYO - Daisuke Naito (32-2-2, 20KOs) retained the WBC flyweight title that he won over Pongsaklek Wonjongkam in a major July upset, with a wide unanimous decision over Daiki Kameda (10-1, 7KOs) in a fight marred with a foul filled twelfth round.

Naito was bleeding heavy from a cut above his right in the final round as his 18-year-old opponent began to fight dirty, losing three-points that began with him hitting Naito on the floor as the two fighters fell and were down on the mat. After losing the point, Kameda pushed Naito to the ground while screaming insults, which resulted in the loss of two more points.

Earlier in the fight, Naito himself lost a point in the ninth round for hitting Kameda to the back of the head after being fed up with his tactics in the ring.

The fight was a big deal in Japan, because Kameda was trying to become the youngest champion in the history of the country and his older brother is undefeated, former WBA light flyweight champion Koki Kameda (16-0, 11KOs). The Kameda brothers are disliked by most Japanese boxing fans, playing the roles of the villians with their fouling and the use of insults against their opponents when they are inside and outside of the ring.
