Hall of Fame trainer Nacho Beristain has tipped undefeated super bantamweight puncher Rey Vargas to become a three division world champion. The 23-year-old prospect from Guadalajara is return on Saturday night in Chihuahua against Filipino contender Ernie Sanchez. It will be Vargas' fifth ring appearance of 2013.
"We are very optimistic of getting a great result [on Saturday]. We know that we are facing a strong, fierce and fast fighter, who can also take punches. We are going to show everyone how it's done. We expect big things for Rey Vargas, like a world title. He is a very good fighter, very disciplined and has a great punch. He already fought overseas and I think if we keep working as usual he will not only become a world champion, but he will get [titles] in three different divisions," Vargas said.
