The NABC has reached an agreement with Don King Productions to sanction Félix Trinidad (41-1) v Ricardo Mayorga (27-4) for the NABC United States Middleweight Championship, Saturday October 2, at Madison Square Garden. The fight is also being contested for the WBA North American Middleweight Championship title.
"With Bernard Hopkins ready to move up in weight, Félix Trinidad and Ricardo Mayorga represent the immediate future of the middleweight division." said NABC President Ed Hutchison. "This fight presents an exciting turning point in boxing with the winner set to be the next dominate fighter in the division for years to come."
