At Carnival City in Brakpan, South Africa, Mzonke Fana once again became a champion with a dominating twelve round decision over Cassius Baloyi to capture the vacant IBF junior featherweight title. The scores were 119-109, 118-110 and 119-110. Fana never stopped throwing punches, overwhelming Baloyi during the twelve round contest. By the ninth round, Baloyi was already in desperation mode and going for a knockout but he was being outboxed and outworked. Fana raised his record to 30-4, 12KOs, and Baloyi fell to 37-5-1, 19KOs.
