David Benavidez has no shortage of HUGE fights on his radar. In an exclusive interview with BoxingScene, Jose Benavidez Sr. makes it clear that David still wants the biggest names at 175lbs including Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev. Benavidez has previously said those are two fights he wants to make as he pursues more titles and major challenges. But there’s another name that could make things very interesting: Andy Ruiz Jr. Jose discusses the possibility of an all-Mexican showdown between Benavidez and the former heavyweight champion, along with David’s plans across multiple divisions. And with a potential Jai Opetaia showdown also building after the pair came face-to-face following Opetaia’s latest victory, Benavidez has some massive options ahead.

ProboxTV’s championship series is now on the ProBoxTV YouTube channel for $5/month.

MVPMost Valuable Promotions has announced a quadruple female-world-championship event, headlined by unified IBF and WBO junior-lightweight world champion Alycia Baumgardner stepping up to challenge IBF lightweight world champion Elif Nur Turhan over 10 three-minute rounds on Sunday, November 8, live (8:00 pm ET) on ESPN and the ESPN App from College Park Center in Arlington, Texas.
In support of “The Bomb” Baumgardner, 18-1 (7 KOs), taking on the “Golden Turkish Warrior” Nur Turhan, 14-0 (8 KOs), will be WBC featherweight champion Tiara Brown, 21-0 (11 KOs), defending against also undefeated former undisputed champion Ellie Scotney, 12-0; WBC junior-featherweight champion Skye Nicolson accepting the challenge of three-time, two-division champion Miyo Yoshida, 19-5 (1 KO); and Ramla Ali, 11-2 (3 KOs), facing undefeated Mikiah Kreps, 11-0 (3 KOs), for the vacant, unified IBF and WBO junior-featherweight world titles.
A dominant champion at 130lbs since 2021, 32-year-old Baumgardner, of Dallas via Ohio, will be seeking to become a two-division world champion against Nur Turhan.
“When I set my mind to something, I see it through, and 135 will be no different,” said Baumgardner. “Sunday, November 8 is a superfight, the kind of fight boxing deserves, and the beginning of my next chapter. I know what it takes to become undisputed. I’ve done it before, and I’ll do it again. To everyone in Dallas-Fort Worth and Arlington, this is my backyard, and I want you there with me. Come out to College Park Center, be part of the moment, and watch me make history.”
Considered one of the hardest punchers in women’s boxing, Istanbul’s 31-year-old Nur Turhan will be making her third world title defense against Baumgardner.
“Alycia is a boxer who steps into the ring determined to win,” said Nur Turhan, “never even entertaining the possibility of defeat; I know I am proud to be representing Turkey on such a major international stage, as I face an opponent who steps into the ring solely for victory. I do not want to lose, either. As two boxers sharing a ‘win at all costs’ mentality, we guarantee a fierce, relentless battle where everything is left on the line. Two warriors, one fight, and only one winner.”
