Olympic rowing gold medallist Eric Murray will go toe-to-toe with Warriors rugby league player Manu Vatuvei in a charity boxing bout.

Olympic rowing champion Eric Murray will don the boxing gloves to fight Warriors rugby league winger Manu Vatuvei in a charity bout in December.

He will take on Vatuvei, nicknamed The Beast, in Auckland on December 15 in the Fight for Life event in aid of prostate cancer awareness.

Others on the card include Australian league players Paul Gallen, Greg Bird and Willie Mason, and former Kiwi Jarrod McCracken.

Four rugby players who have worn the All Blacks jersey - Rene Ranger, Hika Elliot, Carlos Spencer and Troy Flavell - will also be in action.
