Fomer WBA featherweight champion Vicente "Loco" Mosquera, former WBA super featherweight champion who recently lost his title to undefeated Edwin Valero, is under investigation because of his alleged to the murder of Antonio Trejos, which occurred on September 3.

According to the newspaper La Prensa in Panama, on September 3 Mosquera was in the Panamanian resort of Puerto Caimito, on the Pacific Ocean, where Trejos was shot dead.

"We are confident that Mosquera will turn out to be innocent in this case. Right now he is meeting with his lawyer in the capital to clear everything out," Mosquera's agent Rogelio Espilo said.
