Like everyone else in the boxing business, WBA welterweight champion Shane Mosley is chasing the money. After pulling off one of the bigger upsets in the last few years, Mosley is looking to put himself in another megafight. This past January, he dominated and knocked out Antonio Margarito to capture the WBA title.
Mosley's options have come down to three men, Manny Pacquiao, Ricky Hatton and WBO welterweight champ Miguel Cotto. Cotto, who won a decision over Mosley in 2007, returns to action on June 13 and Mosley has not been mentioned as a possible opponent. Kermit Cintron, Joshua Clottey and Andre Berto are the three fighters in the running to fight Cotto in June. Putting that into consideration, Mosley has set his attention on the winner of Hatton-Pacquiao, taking place on May 2. He will willing to wait a few months to fight the winner.
"The only three fights out there right now are Pacquiao, Hatton and Cotto. That's what I'm looking at right now. I'd want Pacquiao or Hatton first. I feel like I have about four more years of fighting left, so I don't care how long I have to wait," Mosley told the AP.
