WBA welterweight champion Shane Mosley was pressed for a prediction on Saturday's fight involving Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Despite being a partner in Golden Boy Promotions, who promote Hatton, he believes Pacquiao has the edge to win the fight. But he wouldn't be surprised if Hatton pulled off the upset.
"I think they match up pretty well - it's going to be a great fight with Manny Pacquiao being the better boxer and Ricky Hatton being a little stronger. It's a an exciting fight to watch and I'm looking forward to seeing it. I'm kind of leaning towards Pacquiao right now but I wouldn't be surprised if Hatton pulls it off. He's been looking very good in training and I think he's going to do a good job," Mosley said to ESPN.
Regardless of who wins, Mosley wants the winner. He says Hatton would make for an easier fight because of his "come forward" style.
"I think styles makes fights but Pacqiuao would be the most exciting fight with two boxer-punchers, but with Hatton coming to me - I like guys coming to me - I think that might be the easier fight," Mosley said.
