"Sugar" Shane Mosley doesn't agree with the critics who tell Manny Pacquiao that he should have selected WBA/WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez, or WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto, as the opponent for May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. All three fighters were in the running to face Pacquaio in May. After weeks of reviewing the proposals from all three fighters, Mosley received the final nod from Pacquiao.
"If you really open your eyes and you look. Marquez and Pacquiao is a good fight. It was a good fight when they were at 130 and 126 [pounds]. But if you put Marquez in there against me....who would the favorite be? Put Berto in the ring with me, who would the favorite be? Pacquiao picked the right guy to fight. Maybe he didn't because he might have a lot of trouble in the fight," Mosley told BoxingScene.com's Ryan Burton.
