Details of the returns of Australians Sam Goodman and Harry Garside in separate bouts on the same bill scheduled for next month will be revealed in a Wednesday press conference.
Goodman, 19-0 (8 KOs), will be fighting in a junior featherweight world title eliminator and Garside, a 3-0 (2 KOs) pro who won bronze at the 2020/21 Tokyo Olympics, will be making his return in a doubleheader in Sydney, Australia, in May.
No Limit Boxing will formally announce details – including matchups for Goodman and Garside, as well as the full fight card – Wednesday at noon in the Entertainment Quarter at Moore Park in Sydney. Goodman and Garside are scheduled to appear at the press conference, along with No Limit Boxing CEO George Rose, Mounir Fathi, Charlie Kazzi, Ahmad Reda and Dharringarra Trewhella.
Goodman, who most recently outpointed Thachtana Luangphon in July, had been scheduled for a January 24 blockbuster challenge of undisputed champion Naoya Inoue before suffering a cut over his eye in training camp that derailed the fight.
At the Tokyo Games, Garside became the first Australian boxer in more than 30 years to medal, turning pro for a handful of fights and then returning to the amateurs to compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics. After falling short of a medal, Garside is set to return to the pro ranks.
