Michael Moorer may have brought his career back from the door of death with a huge TKO win tonight. Heavily behind on the points, Moorer caught Jirov with a short left hand that knocked Jirov silly. Jirov just collapsed on the ring floor and rather then take an eight count, Jirov jumped up very wobbly and the ref stopped the fight.

Early on in the fight, both fighters were testing the waters by taking it to eachother in the first two rounds. In the third, Jirov started to take over. There were several head clashes in the fight which resulted in two cuts on the head of Jirov, one on his scalp and one near his right eye.

Jirov used his hard jab, body shots and several power shots to control the fight from rounds three to eight. Moorer started to come on and show his power in the seventh and eight rounds. Moorer weighed near 250 pounds, but unlike his last bout he was in much better shape.

In the third round a clash of heads made Moorer go down and the ref scored it as a knockdown to give Jirov a 10-8 round. Jirov kept coming in with his head in the fight and eventually lost a point for using his head.

The two fighters started to brawl in the ninth round and the first mistake Jirov made was to go toe to toe with Moorer. Jirov would get knocked back everytime Moorer landed a power shot. Jirov kept his right hand low and Moorer landed a huge left that sent Jirov down very hard. The fight was called at 2:08 of round nine after Jirov got up and was out on his feet.

Jirov did not dispute the stoppage and stated that he wants a rematch.
