Los Mochis, Sin. - On Friday, Fernando "Kochulito" Montiel closed the strong stage of his preparation, as he prepares for his upcoming fight at the Vineyards on Saturday, August 20th, at LA Cetto Valle in Guadalupe north of Ensenada. The fight will be broadcast by TV Azteca. Montiel's camp was combined with two-weeks of fitness and four weeks of preparation, fast-paced and highly demanding, with left-handed sparring partners to adapt the style of his opponent. "Kochulito" went a hard twelve rounds, even though his fight is scheduled for ten rounds, and he looked with very strong, recovered well and his reflexes were fast.
"I always demanded a lot of myself in practice. I like it, enjoy it and this time we closed very quickly. We are not going to give any advantage to Perez, because my goal is land a super bantamweight title fight," said Fernando Montiel.
The goal of "Kochulito" is to look in great shape and to achieve a strong and convincing victory, because his mind is strongly focused on landing a title shot before the end of the year and he doesn't rule out a rematch with Nonito Donaire.
