WBC/WBO bantamweight champion Fernando "Ko-Chulito" Montiel returned to the gym on Tuesday afternoon for the first timesince he fell off a motorcycle in Sonora three weeks ago. We was eager to resume his training and to make a possible defense o the titles in December.

"I felt great, I was cleared by the doctor and he said my right leg is well. I have no doubt that I will soon be getting into a rhythm and be ready by December to defend my title, "said Montiel, who in April of this year in Japan performed the feat of winning the WBC title by knocking out Hozumi Hasegawa.

Montiel said Zanfer not set an opponent. He could face Alejandro Valdez, but there is nothing confirmed yet. Valdez and Montiel had a war that lasted 3 rounds in Tepic, Nayarit in September 2009 and there was a controversial finish.

"Since then, Valdez has been pushing for a rematch and I have no problems to give him one, but I will decide with my promoter Zanfer. If that happens, I have no doubt that I will beat him," Montiel said.
