WBO # 2 light heavyweight and reigning Intercontinental champion Dominic Boesel (23-0) and WBO # 3 Sean Monaghan (27-0) have been nominated by the WBO to take part in an eliminator with the winner to get the chance / misfortune to face the winner of Andre Ward vs Sergey "Krusher" Kovalev - who collide for the WBO/WBA/IBF world titles on November 19th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
In another eliminator ordered by the WBO, super middleweights Robin Krasniqi (46-4) will take on former world champion Arthur Abraham (45-5). Abraham is still scheduled to fight Martin Murray in a rematch on November 12 in Monte Carlo.
Boesel and Krasniqi are both promoted by SES, while Monaghan is with Top Rank and Abraham with Sauerland Event.
British flyweight Jamie Williams has suffered an elbow injury and was today forced to pull out of the scheduled fight for the vacant EU flyweight title against Mohammed Obbadi (10-0), that was set down for November 19 in Manzano (Italy).
However, a substitute has already been found and it is Romanian-Spanish former EBU champ and world title challenger Silvio Olteanu (16-9-2). Olteanu was in training for a fight that eventually never took place and while he lost his last fight the shortage of suitable opponents in Europe at 112 made the EBU approve him.
As for Williams he will be back next year.
