IBF junior middleweight champion Carlos Molina (22-5-2, 6KOs) has already verbally agreed to face Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (42-1-1, 30KOs) on March 8th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Molina is simply waiting for Canelo to say "yes."

Molina, along with Alfredo Angulo, are the two frontrunners to face Canelo on the March date. Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer would prefer, based on their styles, to match Canelo against Angulo, and then have Molina face Erislandy Lara in a rematch on the undercard. Molina fought Lara to a controversial draw in 2011 and has no problem with facing him again.

"We are still waiting to see what decision Canelo and his team are going to make, but we told Golden Boy and Showtime that we're ready for Canelo, Lara or Angulo. I do not care who I fight [on that date]. They've told me that there is a possibility [of facing Canelo]. I'm waiting to be told if they want [the fight] or not," Molina said.
