Junior welterweight contender John Molina seriously doubts that Adrien Broner has any intention of stepping in the ring with Lucas Matthysse.

Broner (29-1, 22KOs), a former three division champion, returned to action last week in Cincinnati against Emmanuel Taylor. Broner won a twelve round unanimous decision over Taylor and afterwards he called for a fight with Matthysse (36-3, 34KOs), who appeared in the Showtime televised co-feature with a second round knockout of Roberto Ortiz.

Back in April, Molina traded leather with Matthysse in one of the best fights of 2014. Molina dropped Matthysse twice in the first half of the fight and took a commanding lead. But the dangerous puncher from Argentina came roaring back in the second half to drop Molina three times for a TKO win in eleven.

Prior to that fight, Molina was trying his best to secure a fight with Broner. He failed to do so, with Broner choosing to fight the far less dangerous Carlos Molina on the Mayweather-Maidana undercard in May. Recently, Molina's camp made new attempts to get the fight, but they continue to get rejected.

Molina believes Broner and his team are not interested in facing a dangerous puncher, which is why he feels strongly that Broner has no serious desire to get in the ring with Matthysse.

"First of all I don't think it's going to happen and second of all I'm going to go with Matthysse. I think Broner has too many holes in his armor. Even with Emmanuel Taylor, who is a good fighter and you can't take anything away from him - but if I would have hit him with those right hands that Taylor hit him with - Broner wouldn't have got up," Molina told BoxingScene.com.

"I just think Matthysse is a good puncher but he's relentless, and Adrien Broner can't stand pressure upfront. When shows his flashiness - he looks great, but once someone puts pressure on him and he backs up on the ropes - if he lets me hit him the way Emmanuel Taylor hit him - it would be something different and if Matthysse gets him there it would be something different."

This Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Molina will face former champion Humberto Soto (64-8-2, 35KOs) in a world title eliminator.
