Belgian / Armenian featherweight Alex Miskirtchian (25-3-1) is sidelined with a hand injury and he is unable to fight on July 24th in Madrid for the vacant EBU title against Rudy Encarnacion (34-23-4). However, to save the show the EBU have allowed a substitute in Sofiane Takoucht (29-3-1).

It may be destiny playing  a part in this because Encarnacion vs Takoucht was all set in April to fight for the then vacant EU title on July 10. As it was Takoucht was forced out due to a license problem. Encarnacion was then elevated to mandatory status for the EBU crown along with Miskirtchian.
