WBO flyweight champion Julio Cesar "Pingo" Miranda (34-5, 27KOs) is ready for any challenge and that includes Giovani Segura (25-1-1, 21KOs) who recently vacated his WBO/WBA junior flyweight titles to move up in weight. Segura has his sights set on a fight with Miranda. There are talks of a rematch with Ivan Calderon for April, but Segura has stressed that Calderon would have to take the fight at flyweight. In the coming weeks, Miranda's promoter Rosalío Aviléz will explore the possibility of a fight with Segura.
"There is talk of a fight with Segura for next year and I think it would be a great fight between two knockout artists who offer entertaining fights to the fans and they throw big punches from the first round. No doubt it would be a great fight between two solid champions," Avilez said to Osiris Mendez Cruz.
Miranda is likely to make the third defense of his title in February.
