Recently, light heavyweight contender Edison Miranda spoke to BoxingScene.com about Lucian Bute's shocking TKO loss to Carl Froch, who dominated the Canadian star and stopped him in five rounds.
Miranda had been stopped by Bute in three rounds in 2010. Miranda returns on September 8th in London, facing hard-punching Tony Bellew.
According to Miranda, he severely overtrained for the fight with Bute because he struggled to make the super middleweight limit of 168-pounds. Miranda moved up to light heavyweight following the loss.
Froch and Bute are taking interim-fights but plan to face each other in a rematch in March of next year. Miranda expects Froch to win again, even with the rematch taking place in Bute's backyard of Montreal.
"The problem is, the way that Bute fights....what people don't know is that if you have a bad night it can throw everything away. Another thing, is when you get used to fighting in your own hometown - then when you fight in another place it's not the same," Miranda told BoxingScene.com.
"Froch will beat him again. [Bute] has no heart, he's weak. When I fought Bute I left the fight in the gym. If I would have fought in my right condition I would have knocked him out. I did too much work in the gym. My problem with Bute is that I had to make 168 and I had to make a lot of sacrifices to make the weight."
