Mikkel Kessler vs. Dmitri Sartison for the vacant WBA super middleweight title has now received full sanctioning from the WBA - even before the final result of Mundine vs. Soliman was known. Kessler-Sartison goes ahead June 21 in Brondby, Denmark. Exactly where the protest from Sauerland Event ends up remains to be seen but one can easily see WBA # 3 Danilo Haussler getting a spot as mandatory challenger for the winner of Kessler vs Sartison.

WBA light flyweight champ Brahim Asloum defends the title on Jule 26 at a site to be announced in France against Giovanni Segura. Chief support? EBU cruiser king Jean Marc Monrose in a voluntary defense. Mandatory challenger for Monrose is Italian Giacobbe Fragomeni.

Ratko Draskovic, last seen fighting with a licence in Montenegro, is now under a three year suspension for testing positive for an illegal substance on March 14 in Munich when he lost on a TKO to Sinan Samil Sam. This fight gave Ratko a 90 day suspension from the German Federation. Despite that the now 42-year-old once decent heavyweight showed up in Sweden on March 27 and got knocked out by Joey Abell. This time Draskovic got a thirty-day suspension from the Swedish Federation.

54-year-old German Rene Weller, the former Golden Boy of German boxing, is still active and says to German media his "real" comeback, under a Polish license, is now finally all set. Weller served a lenghty prison sentence for dealing drugs but came out in exellent shape, minus the suntan, and quickly got involved in various projects including boxing. He´s still in terrific shape - for his age - but boxing professionally??

EBU jr. middleweight champ Zaurbek Baysangurov makes a voluntary defense of the title July 12 in Hamburg on the undercard to Klitschko vs. Thompson.

Lightweights Juan Carlos Diaz Melero, Spain, and Brit Jonathan Thaxton will clash for the vacant EBU title.

WBC Int´l lightweight champ Ali Funeka could be facing Swedish-based Ugandan Peter Semo in the near future.
