Welterweight contender Mike Jones (26-0, 19KOs) is ready for the next step in his career. Jones defeated Sebastian Lujan (42-7, 36KOs) by way of a one-sided twelve round decision. The fight was a final IBF eliminator for a shot at the vacant title. The number one ranked contender is Randall Bailey (42-7, 36KOs). Jones and his co-promoters, Bob Arum of Top Rank and Russell Peltz of Peltz Boxing, have no problem with making that fight.

"I had a long training camp to get ready for this guy Lujan. He was a tough guy. It should that I was in terrific shape. I had to really be in shape to fight this guy and it showed. I though I won every single round. The next step is a title shot and I'm more than ready to compete in that. I'm very excited about my future," Jone said.

Arum said - "The guy he has to fight is Randall Bailey. We have no problem. Russell has no problem. There is no problem with Mike. We are going to make that. Hopefully sometime in the first quarter we'll make that fight."
