IBF super flyweight champion Cristian Mijares is committed to a title defense on the 10th September in Zacatecas, but he doesn't want that to be his last fight in 2011. Mijares has been involved in 14 world title fights, winning 11 and losing 3, and two of those title fights were at bantamweight.
Mijares has issued challenge to WBO/WBC bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire. He wants to fight Donaire on the Miguel Cotto-Antonio Margarito card on December 3 at New York's Madison Square Garden. Mijares is confident that a good boxer will provide Donaire with plenty of fits in the ring.
"I know you think I'm crazy, but I'm not, I have the antidote to defeat Nonito. He's only faced pure punchers. I think he would be in jeopardy against a smart boxer," Mijares said.
