Miguel "Mickey" Roman (43-11, 32KOs) is promising a painful victory when he faces former IBF super featherweight champion Juan Carlos Salgado (26-2-1, 16KOs) on Saturday night in Coacalco, Mexico. They will battle for the vacant International lightweight silver championship of the World Boxing Council (WBC). Salgado is hoping to bounce back after getting knocked out Argenis Mendez in the fourth round of their March rematch.

"Salgado was a champion who made a defense or two. He has quality but nothing to worry about...instead, he should be the one who can not sleep and has nightmares. We know how to win. If I want to be in a world title fight I have to beat the best, and face anyone who gets in my way. Salgado's best days are behind him. He is history, and I'm in the prime of my career. That victory will be mine and I assure you that I'll get it by knockout," Roman said.
