Miguel 'El Loco' Robles (11-1-2 and 5 KO's), the 115-pound FECARBOX champion under the WBC, hopes to defend his crown on June 30 on a card which is being staged in Caguas against an opponent who has not been appointed.
"We do not know who the opponent will be, but I'm getting ready and plan to keep winning and keep my ranking among the best in the division in order to achieve my dream of becoming the world champion," he said.
Robles, a native of the city of Catano, says a title shot is expected to occur no later than the summer of 2013, with the understanding that his career is moving along on a fight by fight basis, but he doesn't rule out the possibility of accepting an offer to fight for the title beforehand.
