Cuban coach Pedro Diaz, who trains WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto, among others, will reportedly make the move to Puerto Rico to run a new gym being built in Caguas. According to reports, Diaz will train and help prepare boxers who are under contract with Miguel Cotto Promotions - like undefeated Jayson ‘Maravilla’ Vélez, Miguel ‘El Loco’ Robles, Juan ‘el Cowi’ Herrera, Jonathan ‘Pitbull’ Vidal, Braulio Santos, Luis ‘El Artesano’ Cruz and Abner ‘Pin’ Cotto.
Diaz will work Cotto's corner this Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, when he defends the WBA 154-pound title against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
