As previously reported in December, Miguel Cotto, his father Miguel Cotto Sr. and other members of Team Cotto were sued with claims of sexual harassment by a former employee of Cotto. Martha Chacon Acevedo claimed that Cotto made unwanted sexual advances when she worked as an administrator of a residential property that Cotto owned in the U.S. Caribbean territory.

She claimed to have had an affair with Cotto for two months out fear of losing her job. And further claims to have been fired after breaking up with Cotto in October 2008. The lawsuit was filed in U.S. district court in San Juan.

El Nuevo Dia reports the lawsuit was settled out of court. Acevedo was looking to get $500,000 dollars, but from what the paper reports she got no more than $47,500. The exact details of the settlement is unknown due to a confidentiality agreement, but it's being said that Cotto, as a defendant, did not acknowledge any liability or fault to the allegations.
