WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto is not going to let Manny Pacquiao make history without a serious fight. Cotto plans to derail any chance of Pacquiao trying to make boxing history by winning a seventh world title in his seventh weight division. Cotto defends against Pacquiao on November 14 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

"If he thinks he will win titles in seven divisions, he picked the wrong opponent, the wrong fighter. If he thinks he will beat Miguel Cotto, he is pretty wrong with these kinds of things," Cotto said.

"If he thinks that he is going to have the same power as Miguel Cotto, he is pretty wrong."

Cotto is not taking offense to all of the pre-fight talk about Pacquiao fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr. in March. He says the Filipino fighter can do anything he wants - after he suffers a loss next Saturday.

"Once I beat Manny Pacuqiao on November 14th, they can continue with their plans," Cotto said.

"I'm not going home without winning this fight. I know what I can do to him and he better be focused on what he's up against in Miguel Cotto."

Pacquaio's trainer Freddie Roach has predicted a first round knockout. Cotto says the prediction and all of Roach's talk means nothing to him.

"Forget about Freddie Roach. He can't go over [into] the ring and fight against Miguel Cotto. He can only train Manny the best he can," Cotto said. "I have a very strong mind. I'm not going to play that game."

The biggest factor in the fight is the speed of Pacquiao. Many don't believe Cotto can deal with the speed. Cotto says the speed will not be an issue.

"It's not going to be a factor like everyone thinks it is," Cotto said.
