Miguel Cotto doesn't seem to be too concerned with the one-year suspension that fell upon Antonio Margarito. During a Tuesday hearing before the California State Athletic Commission, Margarito and his trainer received one-year suspensions over an illegal substance that was found in Margarito's hand wraps prior to the January 24 bout with Shane Mosley.

There was a June 13 rematch in place between Cotto and Margarito. Cotto was going to try and avenge last July's knockout loss to Margarito. Now Cotto likely needs a new opponent, but that doesn't concern him. He is fully focused on Michael Jennings, his opponent for February 21 with the vacant WBO welterweight title at stake.

"According to the regulations, the California State Athletic Commission had the necessary evidence to judge him.  From what I understand, my future will not be affected by this decision, but Top Rank has the last word.  I am going to continue with my training for the fight on February 21 and my focus is winning against Michael Jennings and to bring another championship to Puerto Rico," Cotto was quoted as saying by El Nuevo Dia.
