The official challenger for the WBO super featherweight world title, Miguel "Scorpion" Berchelt, is very motivated ahead of his world title fight against the champion Roman "Rocky" Martinez of Puerto Rico. The fight is scheduled for March 12 in Merida, as part of a co-promotion between Max Boxing and Zanfer.

"We have a great opponent like Rocky (29-3-2, 17 KOs), but I think I have the weapons, the thirst and the hunger to defeat everyone; I am highly motivated, happy. I think that now, after years of work, the effort that we've put in we're going to be rewarded."

"I'm one step away from achieving what every boxer dreams of, but I'm not dreaming - I am working and focused to achieve the objective which is beating Rocky Martinez and win the world championship."

Regarding the challenge, Berchelt is not underestimated anything that's coming in from Martinez.

Berchelt, with power in both hands, has a good chance to beat the Puerto Rican champ. He realizes Martinez's quality after watching some of his big fights with the likes of Orlando "Siri" Salido. He's very confident in his preparation and understands that he's not going to be fighting with just any opponent but with a real world champion.

"I think it will be a battle of strategies, a fight that will be won from outside the ring, with hard work and strategy, but to my fortune I will have a great corner and therefore I will prepare like never before for the fight of my life, for an opportunity that will not be missed," Berchelt said.

Berchelt (28-1-0 with 25 KOs) said he was currently in great shape and not far away from the super featherweight limit of 130 pounds.

"We're fine, the weight is no longer a problem. I will be in the proper form that is required on Friday March 11 in Merida - and there I will seize the opportunity that my company Max Boxing is giving me," he said.
