Miguel “Mickey” Román (33-7, 25KOs), the charismatic king of Chihuahua, has raised his hand to face the Puerto Rican puncher, Juan Manuel Lopez (30-0, 27KOs), for the featherweight championship of the World Boxing Organization. Lopez is scheduled to fight on April 16 in Puerto Rico but has no opponent.

“Here I am 'Juanma' ... I am here at your service," Roman, said.

In his last fight, Juan Manuel beat Mexican boxer Rafael Marquez, who injured his shoulder and was unable to continue after the eighth round.

"I know that Juan Manuel is a great fighter. I've seen in a number of his fights and I know I that have a 50 percent chance of defeating him. I have never been knocked out and I feel that Lopez would not be able to drop me either. I have the perfect style to defeat him," said Roman. “I am a fighter. I don't like to run and neither does 'Juanma'. He is a fighter and is always coming forward and I do not go back, so it will be a real knockout fight for me.

Finally, Roman said that he plans to meet with Town Promotions to direct them to make this fight as he has every desire to fight for a world title as soon as possible.
