As Russian junior welterweight Denis Shafikov has relinquished the EBU title, it will now be contested between Italian fighter Michele Di Rocco, 34-1-1, and Brit Lenny Daws, 25-2-2.
The EBU have set January 11 at noon as deadline for purse bids.
For Daws it means he´s automatically stripped of the EU title he won against Ville Piispanen earlier this year.
Both men have been around for some time now and Di Rocco was an Olympian in 2000 but until 2004 before turning pro, and while his record looks great, he lost the most important fight of his career against compatriot Giuseppe Lauri in 2007. He got revenge earlier this year though. As for Daws he´s won and lost the British title twice now.
