Paradise Theater, Bronx, New York - In the Solo Boxeo main event, unbeaten lightweight prospect Michael Angelo Perez (14-0-1, 8 KO) of Newark, N.J. turned in his most "breathtaking" performance of his young career, knocking out Miguel Rodriguez (7-4, 3 KO) of Upstate New York with a single left hook at :49 of the first round. Rodriguez was coming in off two consecutive losses, but had shown some durability in lasting the distance with unbeaten prospect Mike Faragon in his last fight.
Eddie Gomez (6-0, 5 KO) of Bronx, N.Y. wasted little time in bombing out Marcus Hall (5-4-1, 2 KO) of Rochester, N.Y., dropping the hapless challenger three times in round one to end the junior middleweight contest. Time of stoppage was 2:00.
In the best fight you'll ever see between two losing-record fighters, Borngod Washington (2-8) of Queens, N.Y. outslugged Todd Eriksson (3-7-2, 1 KO) of Stan Hope, N.J. en route to a unanimous decision victory in light-heavyweight action. Scores were 39-37 on all three cards.
