British welterweight Michael Jennings is getting very frustrated with his latest July bout, against John O’Donnell, falling apart after O’Donnell withdrew with a back injury. Jennings saw three dates with Kell Brook fall apart in the last year. He may now have to wait until at least September to fight again.

Jennings, 32-years-old, is not getting any younger. He wants to get his shot at the gold, whether domestic or on an world level, very soon. Jennings doesn't want to wait forever to get his career back on track.

“It’s unbelievable. I’ve not got a clue who I’m going to fight for the title, but it is looking like it’s going to be September now. I’ve not fought since October – it’s so frustrating. When you are a fighter, all you want to do is fight, but I just keep getting let down," Jennings told The Manchester Evening News.

“But there is no point complaining about it. If it was up to me I’d fight tomorrow, but I’m just going to have to wait. I’m still determined to get my hands on the British title.”

Jennings would still like to work his way to the WBO world title. Last February he was stopped by Miguel Cotto in five rounds when they fought for the vacant title. Jennings was a big underdog against Cotto but he would be an even bigger underdog if he fought for the title right now. The belt is now owned by Manny Pacquiao, who stopped Cotto in the twelfth round last November to win it.

“I still want that belt,” Jennings said. “I definitely want to fight for it, but it is just a waiting game at the moment. There is nothing I can do about it, but prepare as normal. I will carry on training and whether it is next month or September, I’ll be ready when my chance comes.”
